The Role of Knowledge Management Clusters in Small & Medium Textile Enterprises
The competitiveness of small and medium enterprises depends upon the quality of knowledge they apply to their business processes. Knowledge management process are included in the organization business procedures. These processes or approaches call for turning own information into corporate knowledge that may be generally shared through an organization and appropriately applied. There are minimum empirical studies on knowledge management practices or process in Textile SMEâ€™s especially in India. In order to reduce the research gap, this study examines how small and medium enterprises apply knowledge management processes or approaches in their day to day business activities which enhances its organizational performance. Using Factor analysis this study identifies the critical factors are Collaboration,T-shaped skills and Information Technology(IT) have significant role. Using Cluster analysis the study identifies and classifies the three Cotton Ginning SMEs exhibits the Socio-cultural (Organisational Knowledge), Techno-centric (Technological Knowledge) and Access-centric approaches (Networking Knowledge).
