IMPACT OF TECHNOLOGY ON MALABAR WOMEN
Abstract
Caste atrocities, colonisation and religious fundamentalism brought infinite hardships to the life of Malabar women. Though decolonisation and eradication of caste system brought changes, exposure to the mainstream remained as a dream. The gush oil in the Arabian lands boosted migration from the Malabar region bringing about progress and advancement to the region. The women folk of Malabar enjoyed the benefits of progress in the field of education and access to the mainstream. Technological advancement brought about through the experiences of migration helped the women to take part in the affairs of family and the society. This paper tries to analyse the impact of technology on Malabar women.
