Analysis of Performance of Si Engine Using Ethanol Blends With Gasoline
Owing to fast depletion of conventional fuels it is the dire need of the hour to search non-conventional fuels to enhance the performance of the engine and reduce dependency on conventional fuels. The present study explores the effects of ethanol- gasoline fuel blends on engine performance in a CT 100.20 four stroke spark ignition (SI) engine using different blend ratios of ethanol with gasoline. Results on performance characteristics: brake specific fuel consumption, mechanical efficiency are analysed with respect to brake power and blend ratios. From this communication it is found that as percentage of ethanol blend increases performance characteristics improve.
