The purpose of this paper is to identify and present the challenges that Small and Medium Enterprises face in the adoption of Information and Communication Technology tools.  Small and Medium Enterprises are not in a position to upgrade themselves to newer technologies in spite of the encouragement from the government. The reluctance to adopt new technology is very highly seen in the enterprises due to various reasons. The study has explored and presented the various factors that have affected the adoption of new technology in such firms. The methodology for the study was based on Interviews with the various stakeholders connected with Small and Medium Enterprises. The interviews were conducted using a semi-structured questionnaire and the responses are analyzed and presented here. The findings through the interviews with stakeholders also suggest the reasons for their reluctance to use information communication technology tools in their business and the ways how they could overcome the same.
